I need help with a loose axle!!

    Ok here's what's up.

I noticed a slight vibration around 70. I took off the rears and noticed that the axle is moving in and out slightly. Is there anything that I can do? I'm fairly good with tools and can figure things out. I'm just not too knowledgeable about cars, yet.

Any suggestions on if I could fix it myself, or should I just take it to a garage?

Not sure what you mean by loose axle, dont they have a certain amount of play in them? Did you feel the vibration through the seat or through the steering wheel. If through the steering wheel the problem would most likely be up front. Through the seat then look in the rear.

By loose, I mean if you have the rear jacked up and grab the tire and pull and push on it there is a noise like it is moving in and out a little. It's not the lugs those are tight. It is the rear, that i'm certain of.

The end play that you describe is normal.
