    1995 pontiac trans am

    i have some questions about my T.A.

    i was just wondering if i have that i know on my steering wheel and my dash it has SRS stamped. also what does that mean? someone told me that i had a ls1 engine and others say its the lt1 does that affect the wsx or whatever that is?

    '95 TA would be an LT1. The '98 and newer had the LS1.

    ya thats what i thought but some mechanic said the srs stamped on the wheel ment something along the lines of an ls1 does that mean it might be or what does that mean?

    the five spoke TA polished wheels are just a different size. 16's compared too 17's

    Ah......NO. The ONLY T/As to get 17" rims from the factory were WS6 (except for the '97 WS6 'verts got 16") and Firehawks. 16" vs 17" rim diameter has nothing to do w/ LT1 vs LS1.

    Not really. The style of wheels that were available on T/As did change over the years, but again, no sudden dramatic change in the styles available between LT1 and LS1 years. There were some styles that were phased out before '98 so you won't find them on any LS1s, and there were some new styles phased in after '97 so you won't find them on LT1s.
