Horsepower from an Oil change!
Ive always been a fine believer in royal purple and k&n products. They proved on Horsepower TV with a dyno that just changing royal purple adds 8 or more horses depending on the application. So first thing I did when I got the car was K&N oil filter and Royal Purple. Instant Power. No joke guys. Besides the 10 hp free mods is there any other ways to draw every bit of horsepower of of these birds? ive been cleaning up/smoothing out the airways and cleaning electric sockets and using Gm ac delco connector lubricant and that has been adding quit a lot of power.( It prevents shorts and crap.. you guys know) I bought the car for 10 and it has 140,XXX on it and it runs better than most vehicles off the lot. I want to suck every bit of HP outta this thing before I get headers, msd coils wires plugs, Special ram air box... etc etc.
Any suggestions? tips?? comments??

Are you a real person, or someone who works for Royal Purple?

i think you have inhaled some of that cleaner bro, there is no way to feel 8hp by the seat of your ass and secondly ... lol hold on im laughing here, dont give into the engine ground trick or anything like that, i belive that cleaning out vital connectors can prevent shorts and such but you are not gonna gain any power or gas mileage,,
as for msd wires, dont waste your money, get some grannatelli wires proven power adder, msd now a days is a joke, fyi

i say putting a fig newton sticker on your windshield should help with aerodynamics, and drinking power aid before each race will make sure your properly hydrated, thanks poweraid and i cant wait for the realease of rocky mountain blueberry,
ill tell you what to do with your hands, put on one the wheel and the other on your chicks leg and smoke all the stangs lol

I think the dumbest thing he said is not the claim that RP adds 8hp or that cleaning sockets adds power, BUT that he paid 10k for a T/A with 140k miles!!!! WTF??

honestly there is some credibility when it comes to adding a synthetic oil and making power,,,, only on the dyno will you see it, aslo i think the 8hp is possible if you change the trans and the diff to synthetic,, i dunno bout the socket cleaning thing,
i mean lets look at this as rational as possible,
lets just say that the only sensors that you could clean and see a differance in with a scanner hooked up would probably already set of a trouble code if they werent reading right anyways ,
now when he said he cleaned the air passages im assuming he meant he pulled out the tps and iac and cleaned out the ports, okay good, maybe the egr ports if so applicable,
but none of these will add power and if im wrong i know that you dont have a dyno jet hooked up to your ass so you wouldnt be able to tell. maybe you have a g tech i dunno, but if you do, did you make sure not to test the hp going up hill lol,
come back on bro and fill us all in on either dyno sheets of proven gains or where you get your weed

well i'm at 78,000 mileage right now.. and previously i was using castrol 10-w30 synthetic. And it was recorded before and after the dyno. I'll get some pictures of it and show you guys.

The thing is...a variation of 2RWHP is normal from pull to pull. Correction factors change.

well you could be right Mr. Luos(you probably are). but i like to dream / hope lol. reguardless guy who posted this forum. royal purple is a very quality oil product. I'd stick with it, even if it doesn't really give you 10 hp

Our resident oil guy doesn't like RP in the LSx series motors.
I run Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30 in my stroker.
