    help!! Paint problem!

Alright..so now Im already having some problems. the painted bar that goes across the back hatch of my car..the paint is starting to have small bubbles in it and I dont know why... I washed it today and im pretty sure I got all of the soap off, but then again I didnt notice it till later on...this kind of concerns me. anyway to stop this from getting worse?

The spots are small..but it makes the bar look like it has zits or something

That really is not common at all with these cars. I think somebody told me some dealerships will fix that for you at no charge?

I belive...I once was told it was due to the type of Glue they use to put it on... and that it'll keep happenin... (but I'm just trying really hard to remember)

search here and on other sites. I remember reading about a tsb on this and dealers were fixing the problem for some members free of charge.

Same thing is happening to my driver side mirror. Looks horrible. There is a little bit on top of my B-Pillar, but it's not as noticeable as the DSMirror. I think I'll call some junkyards to see if they have any black firebirds with the mirrors still on.

Yeah there are alot of threads on here and on ls1tech.com about the problem. Apparently some dealerships will take care of it for you and some wont. My Trans Am is having the same problem and I contacted my local Pontiac service department and they said GM will cover it for a $100.00 Deductible which is definately worth it. They are ordering the part and fixing it for me. I just hope they change the way they put it on so it solves the problem and doesnt happen again. Good luck

I have the same exact problem with my car.....I get so tired of looking at those stupid bubbles in my paint alot of my friends have already commented on that and im getting tired of hearing about it. So your telling me I should be able to call up my local Pontiac dealership and tell them my problem and they will fix it for 100 dollars. I will be calling them as soon as I get the time...

Like I said some people are having luck and some have not. It might depend on your mileage and what kind of condition your car is in. I dont know what the dealerships or GM use to decide if they cover it or not. The pontiac dealership in my area has always been good to me and I have purchased 2 prior firebird/transams from them. I would definately give your dealership a call though or I believe there is an 800 number on some other threads to someone at GM. Good luck
