White is my favorite color for cars. Great find.

    Thanks a lot guys

@Doberman152 - nice gif collage of eddy!

@Naaman - at the top of this thread I was initially looking at a black ws6. Black is my favorite color, but I really like white too. The black one was 98 with twice as many miles. So I figured the white was a better deal, since it's an 02 and was only about US 3000 more.

Is the Trans Am door decal supposed to be black though? In the pic of the car on the hoist, you can see it. I wondered if that was some overlay, as I thought the door badge was always the same color as the body.

Looks like there are a few appearance mods done to it.

Not sure if it's the same for the Chevys as for the Pontiacs, but, my Z28 emblems are black.

Just a question about the front license plate filler.

Here in Ontario we are required to have a front plate. My understanding is that the filler plate is removed via some screws on the back, and would probably need to be up on a hoist to get to it.

If I were to put a front license plate on, do I need a special bracket for these cars, or does are the screw holes for a plate already there?

If you use a jack you can lift it up high enough to crawl under no problem.

IIRC there should be some holes already there to screw into.

Thanks! It would make sense about the holes being there. I can't find anything online for 98-02 front plate bracket or mount.

Worse case is you use license plate screws that self tap and screw them into the plastic.

Nice and welcome! As far as the Trans Am Emblem the previous owner probably ordered brand new black emblems. I ordered silver emblems from a dealer way back.

I second Allen on the emblems. If it were an overlay you'd see the white underneath from the sides. They typically only cover the front.

    And congrats on the purchase!

thanks! So are you saying these could be ordered in different colors as a factory option? I did see them up close and it looked like they were all black from the sides too.

Yeah a while back someone posted a thread on here with all the part numbers for the different Emblems and colors. It was a long time ago and I know a lot of us jumped on it including myself. I think it was something like $50 per emblem or less.

Cool, thanks for confirming! Yeah I was wondering about those emblems being black on a white car. Most of the white cars I saw had white emblems. But the placement looks totally professional, as though it would have come like that from factory (as opposed to someone removing the old one and putting on a new one in a sort of MacGyver fashion).

So guys, hopefully I'm not coming across as a complete noob here but this will be the first manual transmission vehicle I ever owned. I should get it in a week or so.

I've driven standard before, but don't have a huge amount of experience. I took a refresher lesson last night, and used to occasionally drive my brother's manual 95 Camaro back in the day (v6). The instructor had a Honda Accord which is a far cry from the WS6, but still was able to get around ok.

Owned 4 other Trans Ams since 87, and they were all autos. This time I wanted to get a manual for a change. I like the feeling of shifting gears, and also the way the engine sounds.

Are there any tips for driving these 6 spd LS1? Like a table listing the speed ranges per gear or anything I should be aware of right off the bat? My main fear is driving up a garage parking ramp, from a stop (and rolling back into someone who decides to stop close to my bumper).

Thanks in advance for any infos!

I drive by feel. What you're going to notice is if it's stock Master they don't like rapid high rpm shift like at the track.
