    help!! dont know what to do ls6 or not

    OK i have a 1998 firebird and i was sold a ls6 intake the other day for 80.00 dollars plus gm gasket all around . now i was thinking of installing it but i see that i can sell it on ebay for 300 . so what i was wondering is it worth it or should i sell it and buy gears or something els . MY car has LT headers off road y pipe no cats. slp lid and 3.42 what do you guys think i should do.

    ws6 intake doesnt exist. Its either ls1 or ls6.

    ls1 intake cost 50-100 bucks.

    ls6 costs 300-400 bucks

    whats the part #on your intake and or does it have a flat bottom. Lets make sure you have a LS6 intake first!

    yes no egr and flat bottom looked it up part # 12561184

    install it. sell your ls1 intake. youll notice a difference. saves you from ever having to spend the $300 later when you need an ls6, after your heads and cam, lol.

    Whats your future plas on modding the car? If this is it for you then I would sell it and get some gears or something else. However if you are going the Heads/cam route down the road then keep that sucker and install it

    even if you dont do heads or cam, the ls6 is a worth while mod. you will gain hp and expand your power band. for a $80 investment, you wont find more hp anywhere else.

    Yeah I know that but if he sells the intake and profits $$ towards gears he will knock off more at the track with the gears then he would with the 10-15 HP from the inatke on his setup without heads/cam. And he could buy gears with the profit from the intake sale. 4.11s would help his performance and make the car more fun to drive then a LS6 intake.....IMO

    Install it, gears on a 10 bolt is a waste of money IMO.

    You scored a homerun by getting that for $80 as well.

    thanks has anyone put one on a car like mine with little mods , can u feel it ,what should i think about doinf next was thinking 2600 stall

    The LS6 intake shows its increased HP over the LS1 intake around 4k RPMS and up. Tons of LS1 owners have switched from the LS1 to LS6 intake with little mods and been happy.

    Stall definitely, 3500 is what most LS1 owners get. If you get under a 3000 stall you will most likely regret it and end up going bigger later down the road.

    I have a 98 formula with only lid, cut-out, port/polished throttle body, smooth bellow, and other free mods and as far as feeling a difference...ehhhh....but, I did pick up about 8 rwhp according to the almighty dyno....

    but were not talking free mods. this is the ls6, and i think everyone who puts one on notices a difference. its not that you feel the hp, its that you notice a larger power band, specifically after 4k rpms.
