headlight problem

I need to know why every time lock and unlock the car the headlight turn on and off by themself since I know headlight motor went bad but u guys think that caught the problem for the headlight turn on and off by themself everytime lock and unlock the car.

Yes thats the first sign that the gears are on thier way out.

I thought they just make a noise not headlight on and off.

bad connection / ground ? maybe check the harnesses for your headlights. its prone to corrosion.

Is this a recent development, or has it happened since you owned it?

I guess I should explain why I asked that:

If it's recent I would say that it's your headlight motor.

If it has always done it. I would say that your alarm setting need to be changed so that when you lock/unlock it does not turn them on. That is one of the options if I remember correctly.
