Headlight motor woes..

So, my driver's side headlight motor went out on me a couple weeks ago. Finally got around to ordering a new one through autozone. Just installed it, and I turned the headlights on to test it and the lights came on, but only the passenger side popped up, not the driver's. So, I'm thinking "mmkay...missed a connection somewhere", and turn the headlights off. Well, when I do that the passenger side goes down, but the driver's side goes up! I turn the lights on and off a couple times to see, and sure enough, one pops up and the other goes down every time.

Wtf did I do wrong to end up with alternating headlights...

Bleh, figured it out today. Had the little arm that attaches from the headlight fixture to the gear bending in the wrong direction. It pushed when it shoulda pulled and vice versa. Simple fix. I have normal non-ghetto headlights again!
