i think ls1tech has a great writeup on the fixes for the lights. and yes 90% of any problem you experience can be traced back to the gears.... although the one i was working on yesterday probably isn't. my passenger headlight door kept getting caught on the hood and it left lovely little surface scratches behind........ i checked the mounting of the light and it's already as far forward and down as it can get, unless i am missing an adjustment somewhere???? so i raised that side of the hood a little viola! problem solved.... for now. lol. AFAIK nobody has had this issue that i can see.... if its the gears i'll.... well i'll prob LMFAO

Will changing the gears magically solve my hood clearance issue!?!?! I mean seriously. How much can it possibly cost to make a metal gear? was it really worth saving half a cent or whatever? I love my car but some things just leave me scratchin my head

Yeah, the back bolt is hard to get to. I seem to remembe somewhere where I saw how it was easier to take this assembly out, but I don't know where dammit! I've helped someone on a '95 Trans Am, I couldn't believe how easy it was to get those bolts. They only had a single headlight in there, a lot more room. And oh yeah, I forgot about turning the gear over/rotating it to a new place. I did that on one of mine about 18 months ago, it still works. I put a brass gear on the other side.
