head lights suck on t/a's

my head light go up and down but my drive side when i put it down makes a grinding sound like the motors still going if a pull fuse then put it back in it well stop until i open and close them again any 1 know how to fix this

The plastic gear is stripped. Go and find the brass gear replacements. Id on't know if any of our sponsors sell it so go to classicindustries.com

There are a couple different kits available on Ebay, and you might be able to save a few bucks.

this is a little off topic for it but is there a kit out there to take out the flip up headlights and do flush headlights similar in appearance to the C6 vette lights?

That'll make the car look more like a Sunfire then a C6. Especially if it has a non-ram air hood.
But yeah, there is a kit. I think it's around $1000? The same place makes them for C5's as well.

Make sure you buy that kit that comes with a brace. If you don't, you're throwing your money away. The glue won't hold the plastic housing together very long and they will separate. Once this happens, the lights might not open at all. I fully expect my next T/A to need both new headlights motors and window motors. Luckily, I'm experienced at replacing them. Both are relatively simple fixes.

I think projectransam.com has brass gears for sale. Check there, I know its the site owner thats selling them and he has a write up on replacements.
