    Is your radiator full?
Are the hoses on both side of the thermostat warm?
    Is the cooling system stock?
...I'll think of more questions, but start with those.

my fans always turn off when I turn the key to the off position, as for why the temp went up I'd say heat sink.

My 01 Camaro does'nt do this either. I know my other car has a label on the fan shroud that states the cooling fan may start up @ anytime even with the ignition off. My Camaro fan usually turns off with the ignition too. But like the others stated. Possibly low on coolant. I've never heard of our cars fan turning on or continueing to run after shut down. Interesting..

Has your car been tuned? Most tuners will program the fans to run after turning it off if above a certain temperature. The factory tune does this as well, hence the sticker that says the fans can kick on at any time, the tune just lowers the temp at which the fans will stay running.

That's good to know, I never noticed the sticker though I've never looked for it either.

If ECTs are over 235, fans can run up to 150 seconds after ignition off. Stock.

If its tuned at all that will change. I tuned mine to this, if the temp is over 205, fans will run for 180 seconds after ignition off.

190* to 205*, that seems to be were this iron lbock wanted to run.

I have mine running after th car is turned off also, with an aftermarket tune. Also, a stock file/stock tune with run the fans for 150 seconds at 235* after ignition is turned off.

Due to the fact that it has only happened once, it seems you have made (or mentioned) any recent mods, i would say the most likely cause is probably the relay sticking. I have had that happen before and i just popped the hood tapped on the relay and it shut right off, it was intermittent for a while. When i got to the point where one time it decided to not turn on, then i finally replaced it.

I noticed yestarday on my "Ram Air" sticker, the one on top of the lid. It says on the top left corner "fans may turn on with vehicle off" or something like that. So i guess its nomal for you man.
