Gran Prix steering wheel on my WS6???
I do not like the way the 02 f-body steering wheel positions my hands at 10 and 2. I had a 00 Gran Prix GTP and the steering wheel allowed me to position my hands at 9 and 3 comfotably.
What would I have to do to replace the wheel in my 02 WS6 with one from a 00 Gran Prix?

they may bolt right up, but you probably have to get some kind of adapter to make them fit... good question though. Perhaps another member has tried it and has more info about it.
and t-rock.. theres no need for your post. You should probably delete it, theres nothing wrong with asking questions around here. Next time YOU ask a question, i'll be sure to ridicule you for it.

First off, I do not know whether they are swapable or not.
Second, What the hell is wrong with his question? He simply wants to know if he can put in a steering wheel that he feels is more comfortable in his new car. Quit being a dick! I wasn't aware that post counts were a reflection of intelligence... However, if that's true, then I am considerably smarter than you.Last edited by Y2KPewterSS; 10-21-2007 at 12:07 PM. be prepared for the air bag light bulb..unless you put a resistor(triggering the service vehicle light)..so its a lose lose situation if you don't like the whole christmas tree looking gauge

I think this guy is yanking our chain.
As you can see the car has thumb detents for 3-9 positioning and enlarged grip area for 2-10 position.

I don't know anyone that really drives at a 10-2 position or 9-3 anyhow. Driving a stick, I got one hand on the wheel and one on the shifter. Hey, it's his car though, so instead of ripping him a new a** for asking a simple question, maybe we all can just help a brother out. That's what this place is for, right?

K - we'll see if he responds. Maybe he'll return and clarify his point. Because as far as I can see you can position your hands at 9-3.

Actually he said "I had a 00 Gran Prix GTP and the steering wheel allowed me to position my hands at 9 and 3 comfotably" Leaving people to believe that you couldn't do this at all in a Firebird. I disagree, you can place your hands in a Firebird (Not sure on Camaro) in the 3-9 position. Yes, if you read in ... you would assume that is what he meant to say without saying it. I just want to clarify that you can use the Firebird wheel at 9-3 comfortably if you use the thumb detents and that is all.
I have a hard time believing you can get a 9-3 position on a GTP wheel. They are very uncomfortable to me. For those of you that have driven a GTP wouldn't you agree. It was a sore point in the car imo. That wheel is a lot more uncomfortable than my Birds imo.

It is just a comfort thing. I am sorry that I missed t-rock's post sounds like it was quite funny. I had a 00 Gran Prix before the WS6 and there were things that were better, like the steering wheel, heated seats, HUD... Also I wanted to use the airbag from the Gran Prix.
I am not yankin anyones chain, it's a real question!
