Sorry to hear it! As far as price goes, I'm thinking it depends mostly on the shops in your area.

Those hoods cost a fortune and he's not gonna want to pay for it. I hope you have his insurance info.

A lot considering a true WS6 hood used is rare and new last time I checked were over $1000 even with my discount. Hard to tell without pics about the rest but I would say I agree it will be too much outta pocket for most people. Sounds like with the hood then paint and other repairs will easily be over $3000 at any decent shop.

Black/ Silver- 98 TA WS6/ 01 C5 Corvette
Similar thing happened to me, not as much damage and it was my now wife's sister. I would definitely do it through insurance and I thought a new ws6 hood was $2000.

I would just go to the dealer and see if yours can get you one. Most decent body shops will paint and install it without and issue as long as it is OEM without any arguement. Most aftermarket hoods they have to charge extra to finish the minor imperfections.

Dealer will rape you on one. Try GM Parts Direct.

Yeah its his fault so his insurance should cover it and if they don't I know where he lives lol ....but I was thinking maybe gettin a different hood I'm not sure what its called ill have to look it up when I get home but its the one where the 2 scoops on the front go all the way down instead of have the divider between the nose and hood if anyone knows what I'm talking about

Sounds like a Raptor hood from Suncoast Creations; a Firehawk hood would be harder to find than a OEM Ws6 hood.

Yeah its the raptor hood!

The Raptor hood seems to fit well from the few I have seen waiting till my $275 aftermarket WS6 hood finally gets too many stress cracks. Lasted 3 yrs so far. Firehawk hoods are almost impossable to find. The raptor is something that will make your car stand out but if the insurance is paying I would get the Factory WS6 OEM since a Raptor is cheaper to buy later and you can always sell a OEM WS6 hood all day.
