Gearhead Street '10 T/A - 900HP 2010 Trans Am Anno
Gearhead Street '10 T/A - 900HP 2010 Trans Am Announced
Gearhead Street Customs introduces their '10 Trans AmGearhead Street Customs has entered the "let's make a Trans Am from a Camaro" arena with its version of the 2010 T/A. According to Gearhead's president Mike Sloan: "Warning-If you're a Biff or Buffy who just loves your Beamer with the Samsonite roof rack, exit now. But if you love Trans Ams, our 2010 T/A has the power you want to perform a very literal reinterpretation of Smokey and the Bandit." All GSE 2010 Trans Ams start with the base-level 426hp Camaro 1SS with a six-speed transmission. For an additional cost, customers may opt for various power adders, including rear-mounted twin turbos, superchargers, or nitrous, all the way up to a twin-turbo 6.2L LS9 with 900-plus horsepower. The turnaround time is 2 to 3 weeks. For more information, visit www.gearhead-pg.com.

i hate it... i can't stand the retro crap being forced down our throats... if they are going to lable a rebadged camaro they shouldn't call it a pontiac/trans am/fire bird... maybe something like "smoky edition camaro" or some crap... if i seen one on the street i have to say i'd be tempted to drive my car directly in to it in an attempt to total it... it would be worth my cars divine sacrifice... but that's just my opinion...

i love the 4th gen to death.. but 900 street-legal hp speaks big no matter how ugly the car is...ill take it...and im sure that a few of you that "dont" like it would take it as well if it was easily attainable for you...dont you dare lie.

Not liking it at all,and would definately spend my money on something else if I had that level of resources to spend.
I think that people who would drive something PURELY for the power level it has just don't understand what it is about these cars that hold them close to our hearts in the car community.
I'm not saying this as an insult at all just something I have noticed over the years...
There seems to be "racers","car people" and people who are a little of both...
Racers don't seem to care about production numbers, origins, rare color combos or option packages. They are solely interested in performance numbers. The sport of racing! They want to tear it apart, rip it out, soup it up and see how badly they can beat the other guy at the track. These cars are simply tools being used for the sport of racing. I understand and respect that.Racing is a fantastic sport and very addictive,I just never felt that it's the only thing these cars were meant for in my opinion.
Car people seem to have more of a love for the actual cars...
Sometimes we can spend a whole day on the weekend just at a car show, staring at them, taking pictures and talking to others for hours about something as simple as year specific option combos or particular headlight designs and which year they think looks better and why...etc etc...
I think like many,I fall somewhere in between the two...
I hate when someone rips apart a collectable car just for racing purposes yet,I also don't like the idea of taking a beautiful muscle car and never getting her out on the road and giving it a few WOT runs either...They weren't meant to be put on a shelf to collect dust like a life size die cast model!
So when I see a car like this..... I just don't like it.It's not being put out by GM as Trans Am,it's not a Pontiac (of course which is impossible now) and the Firebird Trans Am deserves a hell of alot more than to go down in history as a body kit on a Camaro!1999 Firehawk Trans Am #530
