Fog light upgrade?
Has anyone successfully upgraded the foglights on a Trans Am and if so what brand and model did you use and how did you do it?
I upgraded the ones on my 94 TA and it wasn't hard. But the redesign of the front fasica leaves very little room to remove and reinstall them. I guess I could fabricate my own housing, but I was hoping to find something that would mount back into the stock bracket.
Surely someone has already plowed this field...

Grabed a set of lights from Advanced auto last year for mine. I cant remeber the name off the top of my head but they are slightly smaller and have blue tinted lenses. They use H3 bulbs and put off some nice light. I plan on putting HIDs in them down the road.
I just cut the stock brackets up and the new brackets and welded them together.

I bought a set of round fog lights from Pep Boys... same thing as ^, a little smaller with the blue tinted glass. They were on sale for $15. I trimmed a little plastic off the cheap flimsy mounting brackets they came with; and then using some nuts/bolts I had laying around to mount their bracket inside the factory bracket. Its a little bit of a bitch, getting your hands and tools in there to get everything in and out... so give yourself a couple of hours to do it.

I have a similar set, and I can remove the bracket and get the lights installed in the OEM brackets with a little work, but then I can't get the whole assembly back up in place due to the limited space behind the front fascica. Are you guys removing the front bumper to install them? If not, how are you getting the lights up in place?

i pulled the clips out of the peice that curves up into the radiator and just poped it down. But my paints screwed so i didnt care if it did damage to the paint.
