i havent taken my car to the track yet, in fact ive never run at the track period, just watched. But the part in your story about almost wiping out makes me nervous about running my car at the track. Im too afraid of shifting into second and kissing the wall. I tried practicing launching the other day, dropped it at 2500 rpms, and just sat there n spun.

If your at a well maintained and lighted track you should'nt have any issues. Trust me it's alot safer than on the street. Dropping at 2500 on the street is a completly different story than the track. I think once you find a nice track you will get hooked like the rest of us

yeah i think so i've already been looking online to find one. my wife recorded me and the view is from the ground so you can't see much but you can hear the crowd gasp when i slid sideways. there could have been something on the track to oil, antifreeze i don't know I'll see if i can get the vid on photo bucket

Gotta pick up a helmet and just had to get a new gas cap since my GM one I bought 6 months ago leaks so this time I got a cheap one. That cheap AZ one on my 5.0 is 6yrs old my expensive GM one lasted 6 months one that came with the car 10yrs. Looking forward to hopefully a not too humid day it Houston so it's always hot. Long as the BFG NT's grab should get a descent run. Shooting for high 12's. Want a baseline b4 the cam and stall.
