firehawk buying?

going to look @ a 2000 firehawk w/43 k on it. it is @ a dealer and came from an auction with possibly 4 prior owners, thoughts? price? things to look for? anybody ever hear anything about or dealt with Carmax? Thanks

Probably around 15k-17k. The firehawk is awesome. It has the upgraded suspenion. Also, the Firehawk is going to hold it's value better than the regular T/A's and Formula's. The first thing I always due when I look at a car is check the oil and transmission fluid. I think it gived you a good indication of how well the car was taken car of. I would also take it for a test drive to check the drivetrain and any leaks. Good luck.

I'd carfax it before buying to see if there were any accidents. What's the asking price? M6 or A4? Miles seem low enough but I would also prefer the car as close to stock as possible.

thanks for the responses. the car has 43 k and price is 17k. did a car fax and no accidents listed but i think 4 owners and its been through the auction once or twice which kind of concerns me. also shows a hit on lease/fleet vehicle. I kind of like the ws-6 ram-airs but the firehawk is sharp. again, thanks for the info.

carmax: non-nego price and 30 day warranty! read some reviews on epinions about carmax. don't know what to think. wont be able to look at it until early next week now if still there. About 5 hour trip, still contemplating. Appreciate all the feedback

I just bought an 02 vert hawk from carmax yesterday.paid 22k for it with 14000 miles on it. got a 5 year 60k mile warranty on it for 1400

Don't forget to check the passange door for a SLP sticker to see if it had any Firehawk options (Auburn, 1LE, etc.) added; this will change the price over a stock hawk depending on the options SLP added.
