Firebird vs trans am (whats it worth)
How can i tell the difference between a firebird and a trans am? Also if it is a formula from just looking at it? I know probably a stupid and easy question but news car are new to me as i am into the old school muscle. The one in question is a 99.
Also i dont know if this will work but this is the one i am talking about and is it worth the price? Umm i can post the url since i new so i guess that out.
Thanks for all the help.

Midnight Blue- 99' Trans Am
The trans am has 2 fog lights in the center of the front bumper. A formula will have 2 exhaust tips. It will also say formula on the doors. The firebird will have a lip wing and have a single exhaust tip.

Well the car has 25k miles on it and has two exhaust tips cant read the door from the pictures, has a manual trans, and also foglights in the front, possibly has ttops cant really see, and they are asking 17,950 for it. IS that decent price for what it has?

Black- 2002 WS6 Trans Am M6
IF they want 18K for it, I am sure it is most likely a Trans AM

$18K is too much for a 99, unless it's a special car like a Blackbird.
Go on ebay and look at the pictures of different cars, it should give you an idea of the exterior differences.

I agree with JB, for a 99, even with low miles, and even if it is a fully loaded TA with Ram Air, the EXCELLENT/PERFECT condition price for that vehicle is NO MORE then $12,300 blue book value. It would have to be a special edition for sure and even then that price is steep.

Black- 1997 Trans Am ws6
The firebird has a set of two lights on the outside of the front bumper on both sides, as someone said above, the trans am has two fog lights in the center of the front bumper.
Firebirds are 5 speeds (except the formulas), TAs are 6s
Obviously the firebirds are v6s (again except the formulas) TAs are v8s.. just pop the hood and check it out.
Personally I like the look of the TA better.. especially the high rise spoiler in the back.

Also look at the wing, T/A's have the high rise spoiler, firebirds have the one that sits flush on the deck lid. The rear bumper on a T/A has the exhaust cut outs for the tips, firebirds dont. BTW, 18K is to much, I paid half of that for mine when I bought it, I seem them run through the auction all the time for about 9-12K.--Tony
