    Firebird transmission info needed

    What is the designition for the automatic transmission in the 2001 V-8 Formula? Is it the 4L60 or the 4L60E? I am just trying to figure out which one I have. Thanks for all info.

    As the other guys said, it is 4L60E because the transmission is electronically controlled. That is what the "E" designates.

    when they changed the 700r4 to electronically controlled it became the 4l60e. kinda like ford did with the aode/4r70w
