if someone had the money the vett has the name of being called a corvette, performace wise you can get a trans am for nearly half the price and it only runs .2 seconds slower for the 98-02's

Black on Black- 2001 Firebird T/A WS6
If I had the money to buy a Z06, I'd buy a T/A and make it smoke that Z06, and still spend less money.

I think he meant it money wasnt an issue, someone offers to give you a car either a bird or a vette for free and u had to keep it?
I would take an LS1 Bird over an LS1 Vette. But any vetter with an LS2 or better I would take over a Bird I think.

EB- 2002 Z06
It's a personal choice. I went from a 99 Formula to an 04 GTO. Now I have a 02 Z06. I like different things about each one but I am seriously considering going back to an F-body. The Z is sweet but it's a pain to get in and out of, pull in a drive way without scraping, go aver a speed bump period. I would consider going to another GTO but they are just kind of plain. The GTO is the better build quality of the 3, better interior for sure. The Z is far and away the quickest. I'm kind of looking for a 2002 Firehawk or WS6 with low mileage.

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
I have 2 friends with LS1 cars...one has a black '98 SS and another has a black '98 Vette...
I think the Trans Am looks better then both of them...more aggressive lines, stands out more with the ram air & spoiler, etc.
I'm a little better at racing then they are...both of them have convertibles, so they're slower in that respect, and I'm fearless when it comes to driving, so I tend to out manuver/corner them on "road races".
I think it's more of preference, and that's why I love GM...they put out a variety of cars with the same engine, so you're not resricted to one car when you want a specific engine.

Wow!
What an education I do like having four seats in my car and I do like the performance and style of the Firebirds...very aggressive. I want to make the Trans am my next car, but can't afford it so for now my Grand Am GT will have to do.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
hmm well just the fact that a vette is a vette. having drove both a 02 vette and a bird both a4s .the vette has a whole different feel..it shifts alot better, and you hug the ground, plus girls panties drop for the vette...well the do for the bird too. but yea lets not forget no 10 bolt to worry about so you can have a lil more fun. oh and bird vs c6..a 07...not even close..the new c6 vette rides so smooth and shifts great and hauls ass. but i picked a bird 1 for the money..and 2 because the bird has a more raw feel to it..like a classic muscle kind of feel and styling.

Not criticizing you, but you have obviously never drove a Vette. The only aspect that fbodies compare to Vettes are straight line racing. As far as amenities, handling, and quality of vehicle, the Vette is just advanced in comparison to fbods. How often do you hear about Vettes having bad window motors, or the leather in the drivers seat of a Vette tearing or little things like that. Not often, because the quality of a Vette is just better than fbodies. If all you are interested in is straight line racing, then yes go for an fbody. If you want a higher quality all around vehicle, Vette.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
i was considering a vette for a long time b4 buying another ws.6. Basically-you can spit and hit a vette. ws.6's are very rare and honestly don't get the respect they diserve. I really wanted the prestige of a vette though...nothing like being young and having a vette. But really, there is nothing like a ws.6's prowling demeanor and muscular body lines. Vettes just don't compare to that.
nhraformula meant that fbody's are for guys who want cheap and fast, vettes are for guys who want fast and performance.
will a vette outhandle an fbody, mod for mod-hell yes, hands down. But like i said, too many vettes out there and i'm not a trend guy.

ya i have driven vetts actually, and for the amount of money you would save you can fix the leather and motors, your paying for a name when you drive a vett, and how can you compare an 07 car to an 01-02? we were comparing 01-02 birds against 01-02 vetts, obviously technology and the build of cars is ALWAYS improving
