$200 is a great deal, as long as the lobes are in decent shape and the cam is indeed what he says it is. Bare minimum, you need new push rods and stiffer springs (918s at least). If you want to get a little more serious, you could throw a ported oil pump and stronger timing chain on while you have the front cover off.

Well the cam is a good deal if thats what you want..... here are the specs on one... they are 400 bucks brand new....
Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"TR 224-112" - 224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA 1700-6600 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning on automatic transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.
You should get with a new cam....
upgraded springs
new pushrods
ported or high flow oil pump
ls2 or similar timing chain
that will be a solid setup....but with cams, also look into a ls6 or fast intake, lid or CAI, and headers.... your not going to see the true potential without supporting mods....Last edited by suede; 01-28-2009 at 02:01 PM.

TR224's have a noticeable idle.
But for a Turbo I would stick with a stock cam or something with a wider lobe spread that won't bleed off boost. JMOCraig

Turbo Cam and Rough Idle are Not Synonomus.

alot of where the rough choppy idle comes from is your LSA or Lobe Seperation Angle, a lower number like a 110 LSA will have a very rough choppy sound to it and be good for N/A applications, whereas say a 114 LSA will have a smoother not as noticeable sound to it and be better for boosted or Nitrous applications...
