    Exhaust System

    I've read many of the threads on Exhaust systems. And I still don't know which way to go. I have 1999 TA 30th Anniversary edition. I want to add headers and a better sounding exhaust. I'm thinking Hooker Headers and Flowmasters? Any opinions? I don't plan on doing much racing , I just want a little mor HP and a better sound.

    If you want just a great sound and some HP increase on a budget, go with the SLP LM I exhaust. Sounds GREAT wtith stock manifolds/cats/y-pipe.

    Though, once u start adding headers/no cats and other bolt ons the sound will be unbearable.

    If you wanna spend some dough I'd go with a magnaflow cat back with LT's.

    Or go true duals and turn some heads.

    Like n e thing else there's many options and it all comes down to how much u wanna spend.

    hope this helps!

    I like the idea of pacesetter long tubes because I heard they don't have a ground clearance problem like the SLP. Let's say I do that and the catless y pipe and hooker catback. I don't want it to be real loud, would that set up be too loud? Any ideas on costs? I won't be doing the install myself, I'll be paying a local speedshop to do the work. What do the exhaust tips look like?

    well, the pacesetters and y pipe (coated) you can get for about 500. the hooker for around 300.
    installing it figure about 400.
    i have the pacesetters and hooker and its not real loud. you have to remember that when you do headers, the car is way louder than before. hooker has about the most quiet set up with headers and sounds great.

    duals are expensive becuase you need to have it fit over the axle..alot of custom work. true duals are a dedicated exhuast pipe for each header. no cats or any of that weak shit it will look like this

    []<-headers-> []
    | <-pipes-> |
    | |
    |____________|____ <-axle
    | |
    + + <-tips(can have mufflers)

    Here is a video of mine. Its the borla adjustable cat back and JBA short tube headers. I know a lot of people here will disagree with my choice of shorties but I have my reasons. And it sounds great!!
