    Depends on your state.


    Legally you must have a CAT in the US. However some of us do not because our states do not have Emmission or Vehicle Inspections.

    I opted for high flow cats when I upgraded the exhaust on our '02. No regrets and at least something remained "legal" on the car.

    I run Kooks catted y pipes on my car, not only does it comply with emissions but there was a study done s long time ago, that a well designed catalytic converter improves airflow by reducing turbulence, which improves torque.

    I went with the catless Y pipe when I had my longtubes installed. The sound of this engine wide open with LTs and ORY to me is incredible.
