DRL's question
When my (US)2002 Trans am is runing my DRL's are on, which are also my blinkers. And i know that's normal. My question is: If i turn my headlamps on, are my DRL's supouse to turn off? or stay on along with the headlamps and everything else. Are those lights supouse to be on in anyway with the headlamps on? Are those also the parking lights? I just went through the problem of getting water inside the housings and in the sockets. The result was corrosion in the lightbilbs contacts. I installed new bulbs and tried to clean the sockets the best i could and added electrical grease so they resist longer to the water. After months of not having signal lights and DRL's the problem was solved. But at night i noticed that when i turned my headlamps on i had no ilumination at all on the DRL's/parking lights. Is that supouse to be like that or they are supouse to stay on along with the head lamps? Signals still good so far, though. Need to replace sockets?? Please HELP!!

Once you get corrosion in the sockets you have to replace them. You can get them at any auto parts store. I think mine were like$6 or $7 each amd you just cut the and either solder the new wires on or use crimp connectors and the cover them with shink tubing or electrical tape and when you install the buds in the new sockets add some of the grease to keep moisture out. The drls are on bright when you drive and when you turn the headlights on they switch filaments in the bulbs and dim out and work as your parking lights.

Thank you! That means i still have problems with the sockets! Hopefully Autozone or Advance Autopart have them. Is not a dealer item right? I still need to seal the housin also. Thanks again for your answer.
