Whats the best gear in a drag only car with a 6 speed.

ehhhh.. Highest id go is 4.10's because you dont want to run out of room and have to shift into 5th gear at the end of the 1/4. Even some people with 4.10's have to adjust the rev limiter and shift points. Big time killer.

So I have to shift into 5th, better to get the car to the end faster, even if you have to make a extra shift. I'll already be going over 100 mph. I think the start of the race is the most important than loosing a little time at the end with one more shift.

you will run faster with 4.10's than you would with 5.13's. Not to mention if you had somthing as radical as that you would get no traction and there really is no use for gears that radical unless your running a massive ammount of horsepower.

373 is for woosies I was thinking of even a 557 gear. arter all it has two over drives.

To be honest man, getting 557 gears would be pretty stupid. Capster78 said it best.go with 4.10s. Some people still have a helluva time gettin traction with 410s let alone 557. Plus you don't want to shift to 5th.

Take a look at Al Cordas firebird and get back to me. Like I said street stuff is for kids. I wanna go drag racing not fag racing! You girls that are having traction problems just dont know how to set up a good drag car!

Go that high of a gear and you might as well skip first gear and start out in second defeating the whole purpose. 4.10`s and you will be happy
