Door mirrors.....what years fit what?

Hi Guys...,

I am shipping a 2000 WS6 over to the UK and when it gets here i will have to do a few minor lighting mods to comply with our rules and regs.

One thing i don't want to do is put any sort of side repeater on the front fenders and so i will be doing an LED installation discretely on the door mirrors
to a factory looking level a la mercedes or similar....now..... i am going to get a pair of replacement mirrors, do the mods, and then paint to match and switch from the original mirrors.

My question is what years am i looking to buy for this??? Does it have to be from a '98-'02 car or will i be able to get any good power mirror from '93 on up
if they are the same fitment????

Another option is a light inside the fender scoop grille.

I remember seeing a write up done on how to install blinker lights in the fender vents as described above, just can remember where....

Now that is actually a very good idea and i must admit i never even thought of that!! But....... I DO like the idea of the mirrors and as well as being able to fiddle with the mirrors off of the car if i get a "spare" pair...i can undo the mod and maybe do the above grille idea if i change my mind!

My thinking on the fender grille was itd be a snap to run a wire. off the bumper side marker, and thru the fender.

I thought one of these aftermarket companies would mod the mirrors w/leds for you if you sent them in...? Anyone recall seeing that?

Mmmmmmm.....

You are dead right and there is a guy on ebay trading as "camarossls1" but he wants $450 US on an exchange basis and i don't think so! I am sure it would be a nice conversion but i work in a design and tech dept. of a college here and we have available absolutely all of the resources to do a pukka job for a fraction of the money he wants

His is a thin line of LEDs and i am more after the high end auto look such as mercedes or similar where there is a "shaped" clear part to the installation with the LEDs within! I do look forward to being able to fiddle and let you guys see what i envision.... You'll like it!
