    Don't you just hate...

when you are working on a particular project and then tell your self "well since I am already here might as well replace them now, or fix it before it breaks" lol.
I am in the process of the doing the LS6 valley cover on my '01 ws6 and realize how easy it would be to replace the plugs and wire. I also opened up the valve covers and put in chromoly rods, seeing that I have a 6-speed. Then I thought since I am here should I replace anything else? I am a newb to all this, and I am wating for new valley cover to arrive. So my questions are
1.What's a good set of plugs and wires that won't break the bank? Where can I get them?
    2. Anyone know the part number for knock sensors for my car?
    3. Should I upgrade anything else while I am there that won't break the bank or be more time consuming?

I don't want to break the bank because I just started new job after being unemployed so I can't go crazy spending. Thanks again guys for help.

    Here you go:

Even if you have a 98 get the 99’-02’ Knock Sensors (98’ and older GM is no longer making, If you’re like me you will need to upgrade to the 99’-02’ KS sensors (x2) and wire harness.)

Even if you have a 99’-02’ KS it is still a good idea to replace them. Remember it’s better to do it now while you have everything off then have to come back later.

    Part #’s”
    KS (x2) - 12589867
    KS harness – 12601822

Read this, It has some info on catch cans and why they are a great thing to add in addition to the LS6 VCT mod.

Plugs and Wires - Most will recommend NGK TR55's and MSD wires.

If you can get a LS6 intake if you don't already have one, part numbers to look for on the intake are:

    LS6:
    Stock 2001-2002 F-body LS6 is 12561184.
    The Z06 LS6 is 12573572.

    LS1:
F-body LS1 intake with the EGR setup is 12560688.
    97-00 vette LS1 intake is 12556333.

Another good thing that doesn't cost to much is a ported TB, not a BBK or FAST, but a stock one that has been ported. You get just about the same gains as a 80mm BBK TB.

Lids - stay away from K&N - too much work and it will dirty your MAF fast.

I'd go with an iridium plug - I'm running the Delco's in mine.

Plugs are a PITA, you might as well spend the extra money on the iridiums that will last much longer than the conventional TR55's.

Thank you very much! Will try to do these mods while I am there. Good thing is that my car is '01 and has ls6 intake Thanks again!

I've had really good luck with Bosch Platinums, I originally installed Bosch Platinum +4's on my car about 5 years/50k miles ago, never had an issue. Replaced them while I was doing my headers and they were very clean and no irregular indications. I did go a step cheeper this time and installed the regular Bosch Platinums because the local stores didn't have the +4's in stock and I didn't want to wait.
