79 T/A -91 Firebird- 1998 Trans Am -Oynx Black
Since youve already drove a TA you might want to go with a ws6 or a SS...
I got to ride briefly in one of the members here SS and it did ride much smoother than my TA...
Trans Am will always turn heads though!!!

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
Did he have an aftermarket suspension? I don't see any reason why one should ride smoother than the other; they're basically the same car. Maybe he had upgraded shocks?
To the OP:
While I'm a Pontiac fan, the SS's ARE a really clean looking design, I've always liked them. Plus, if you're on a budget, they seem to be cheaper than the T/A's. You might enjoy switching it up this time.

ONE MORE TIME. i know its motortrend and not all critics get the same results but 3rd paragraph.http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ws6/index.html
this cause its a 00? honestly, they're both almost even. no contest
as for the op, try out both. probably the best place to start so you can weigh the pros and cons. i've always been in love with the 4th gen trans ams but the ss definetly kicks ass. look into em, go test drive a couple ws6 and ss' and see if you can find one you fall in love with

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Being your 2nd time around, TAKE YOUR TIME! Consider some of the options each car came with such as the anniversary editions and 1LE's etc. I noticed that on my 2nd go around, seeking out the Phoenix Risen required a lot more patience. I was very particular about what I wanted. A black car with some mods. That's what I found and it was a great building platform.

i love me some SS but i do see way more of them around then birds, and with Pontiac getting canned i would rather have a t/a, but i might be a little bias

I would let price and condition rule my discission. Low miles, mods, overall condition, location....out side of that an WS6, SS, Firehawk.. some special edition model

When I went shopping for my car I wanted a ws6. I found a bunch of ones in the condition that I wanted and mileage. I quickly realized that they were out of my price range. I found a z28 for about 3 grand less than a similiar condition ws6. To me I wanted the motor and the setup more than the style. Do i wish i had a t/a, ws6, firehawk YES but for the money i love my Z.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
on the outside, i like the T/A better, even thought a clean SS is hard to beat. But I have always liked the Camaro interior better

98-02 ls1 camaros will drop even more in price with the release of the 2010 camaro. If i were you i would go with an SS. I like Trans Ams better, but i would get something i had not had before. At the same time, Pontiac is being phased out and these next couple years could be your last chance to get a trans am ws6 that hasnt been too abused....it will also hold a lot more residual value.
