    Deal or no deal?

Found this on TECH...Thinking about pulling the trigger on it, my buddy has a paint shop so he can hook me up with the paint repairs. What do you guys think? 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 **LOWERED PRICE** - LS1TECH

Did you run a DMV History report or CarFax ? All I can tell you is my 2002 WS6 idles when warmed up at 40 lbs. There's a lot more to the story here besides a cheap price. Unless you can put your hands on it with a knowledgeable WS6 owner you could be looking at repair costs that would exceed paying more for a more legit example. IMO. My guess is there are motor issues as well as the obvious cosmetics.

If you want this as a project car or maybe one that you can fix and flip it might be worth it for $3800. I'd go over with a fine tooth comb first starting with the OPSU. That will be the first place I'd check. Reason being if it is cracked or broke that's only a $60 fix vs replacing the oil pump. If the OPSU is ok I wouldn't trust the OP that is in there period with that fluctuation. The oil pressure should be much higher on start up. If it is the O ring being pinched it still is a needed repair and tear down to the OP is the only fix.

BUT - with that yr and price + the paint damage it makes me wonder just how much it was beat on. 02's should be much higher then $3800

IMHO - I'd look real hard at it and most likely trailer it home and find the cause of the oil pressure issue. Blown motors after you just bought it sucks! In the long run you may be rescuing a bird that needs a good home, it just matters how much you want to spend on it.

Don't be like me. I've only had my 02 bird for about 2 months and now the tranny is out. I kinda new i would be replacing/fixing, but the tranny should have lastest a little longer.

Ya I'm passing on it. Gonna just save up my money this summer and see what I can get at the end of the season or at the beginning of spring.

You're probably better off, unless you were really wanting a project car (which is what that car looked like).

Sounds too good to be true. I would check it out on a lift first. 3,800.00 is cheap but you never know.
