    99 trans am

    Damn ABS Sensor!!!

    The absinop light in my 99t/a is on. so i took it to a shop and they said it was just a sensor failure. the breaks still work fine its just an annoying light all the time. two shop said it would be about $600 to fix just for a broken sensor. They said that the sensor was in the rear assembly and that is why its so pricey. has anyone ever had this problem? how did you fix it? Is it some Thing i can do my self?

    p.s. as a result of the sensor failure the tcs stays off all the time

    I'd take it to the dealer and spring for their diagnostic charge. Not sure what they mean by "in the rear assembly." I'm thinking the reluctor/sensor on non-TCS cars is in/on the pumpkin, but on TCS cars there's one at each rear wheel? Maybe I'm wrong....
