confused
ok. so i wanted to get bigger hp gain by installing a few mods to my 2002 ws6. i decided to go with the basics and installed pace setter 1 7/8" with a 3" outlet headers, 3" cats, 2.5" custom y-pipe, and slp loudmouth 2 exhaust. also added a volant cold air intake. my problem is that it seems like in doing that i lost quite a bit of back pressure. what can i do to get my full hp out of my mods and where did i go wrong? any help would be appreciated

Agreed. The last part of my install was to ship my PCM to Frost.

Back pressure is an old internet myth that needs to die. Get in touch with Frost. He can get that thing nailed with a mail order.

I have 1 3/4" QTP race headers, ory, volant, sevral other bolt ons and the tune still made a great difference escecially if you have an A4, mine runs to 6100rpm in every gear and shifts harded + faster.

I asked Frost this very question as I was not yet certain about a cutout when I sent him my PCM. He can clarify, but I am pretty certain his response was that the change would be essentially negligible so there is no need to re-tune for a cutout. The only exception was a car that was "tuned to the bleeding edge".

ok..would cutouts after the longtubes affect performance, or throw a code if they were run open??
i ask this because where i live u need emissions and i want to go with cutouts before a h/f catted y..and i wouldnt want it to throw any codes to my car because of different readings from the cats being after the cutouts..just a ? im not too sure on..

Two thoughts: One, as long as the cutouts are not too close to the O2 senders in the LT's you should be ok. You just do not want the reading contaminated by outside air. Two, if you have the deleted the rear O2's there should not be a problem. If you are still running them, I'm not sure what the effect would be - but an SES light would not surprise me.
