    clean driving record

Got my updated policy information from progressive today. Had my last 3 violations drop off (last one was just over 3 years ago). I at one time had 4 (3 speeding tickets and an illegal u-turn). My 6 month policy for my two cars (Have a 93 mercury cougar) went from 1300 every six months to 850 every six months. Basically about from 230 a month for the two down to 145 a month. Thank God! I was paying as much in insurane as I was for my car payment! Word to the wise, young drivers (I'm only 21 myself but for some reason feel like an old, hasbeen already), Keep your records clean! It might not seem like a big deal to get a 100 dollar ticket but it costs you a hell of a lot more in the long run!

Congrats. Enjoy the lower payments, and... keep it clean

Of course, Kahana. I only race on backroads now! That way i the PO-lice. Actually have never been busted for racing. Just all dumb speeding tickets. Been sober (in a ticket sense) since 2007!

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

My driving record is horrible. i only had 1 year of low payments-damn near what you quoted, only like $850ish each renual. Then i got a wreckless driving and later a "failed to yield" on left turn. $1800/renual now. $1300 if the Phoenix is on comp only

When you turn 25, your premiums will drop a ton more, also when you buy a home, they will drop quite a bit.

Funny that you mention it. I'm looking to buy a house. If you know the real estate game you can make a killing when the economy is down like this. I'm going to try to buy one or two now and resell in about five or ten years. The way I see it is I can get one with a mortgage that runs the same as my rent every month and atleast i'm building equity. Then hopefully when the prices come back up in a few or five years i'll resell at a profit and get into a newer nicer one. My premiums dropping just gives me more reason to buy now. I want to try to knock out a little bit more of my car loan first though.

for the stunts me and my P.I.C. have gotten away with in my car. we should be doing time in federal prison. dont want to go too far in detail but i have wrecked while racing raced past a cop been pulled over with underage drinkers and open containers of alcohal in the back. ran from cops more times than i can count. in my short street racing career lol. since my last close call and th fact i have more than 6 grand in my car now i have quit the street racing thing and i completely agree it is not worth the risk. enjoy your car saftely if you want to abuse it. keep it legal on the track. not worth losing your prized possession. if i can make it 2 more years with no tickets my insurance will drop a crap ton. ...hurray 25!

You are old now. Once you are out of your teenage years, you're old, it's over.

Seems kinda high. I pay $246 for 6 months for full coverage on the Trans Am and PL/PD on the '94 Jeep. No tickets in past 4 (maybe 5?) years....

LUCKY! I grew up in a rural area so I got my tickets mostly to and from school when I was running late. Now, I live in Lincoln so I do alot more in town driving and dont tend to speed as much. When I do mess around I keep it to the back, dead-end hwys.

Depends on your state I think. In Nebraska, moving violations stay on your dmv record for three years for insurance purposes. Think they only count for points on your license for two years. BTW, you cant get them taken off, when your insurance company runs your dmv record it will show all violations for the last x amount of years. In Nebraska its 3 years, might be different from state to state.
