Center console differences

I have a 95 Firebird and my center console is all busted up. I also noticed the cup holder that swings out is missing... unless it never came with one, which it looks like it did... did it?

My question is, are the 97+ consoles for the firebirds much different than the pre97s? Meaning, can I put a newer one in my car without any modification? I prefer more cup holders.

they are different. The 93-96 had no slide out cup holder, the center compartment upens differently and I believe they didn't have the cup holders in the back. I am pretty sure the 97+ will bolt in, but I'm not sure. I am looking to upgrade to a 97+ on my 96 formula, so would like to know if it would bolt right up.

I'm pretty sure the bolt right up.. I'm just concerned that the front may be higher or lower in one year vs. the other. The side slide out cup holder and the two rear cup holders are the very reason Im looking to upgrade. Well, that and the fact that mine is ruined
