    Lightbulb Carbon Fiber

Ive been looking into carbon fiber applications and started thinking.

    1) Are there CF Rims out there for F-bodys and if so, Can the CF rims handle high HP?

    2) How safe are CF Hoods? (WS6 hoods)

    3) How safe are CF drive Shafts?

    4) Are there other CF body panels avalible for 98-02 F-bodys (firebirds perferably)

OH!!! and to make sure everyone out there understands, im not looking for that Carbon fiber Tuner BS look, i would paint the CF to match the rest of the body color. The rims would be the only thing not touch.

    1) Don't know anything about those

    2) Waste of time (see 4)

    3) Don't know anything about that either.

    4) Waste of time. Not much metal on our cars to begin with that you'd be replacing with CF, you wont be losing much weight at all. A WS6 hood is light anyway, it's not made of metal either. If you planned on painting the panels anyway.. extreme waste of time/money.

Good luck with the car, and welcome to LS1.com, but stay away from spending your cash on CF panels/hood.

If it gets moved to WS6 forum you can have all parts answered in one topic.

Unless you are building a garage/trailer queen show car, CF wheels are overkill. Just get some shiny forged wheels and call it a day! CF is over rated imo but I'll admit that I don't know much about it other than it's stronger than steel and a much, much lighter. I still think it's too exotic of a material to use on anything other than a show car.

It's your car though, do what you want.

Welcome to the forums, you will learn a lot here!
