Car runs like garbage in heavy rain.

Today we've been getting drenched with a consistant down pour. My ws6 is my dd so to get to and from work i had to take it out today. I do my best to avoid deep puddles but some where unavoidable. The car started to idle incredibly rough. I got home let it sit, i just went out to start it, started right up idled fine for a few minutes then got rougher and eventually stalled. Started up again and rain fine. This has happened once before but only when it rains very heavily. Last time this happened The next day it rain fine like nothing happened. Any idea of whats causing this and how to stop it?

What does your intake look like? Air intake rather, did you do the free ram air mod? Is there any chance water is getting through your filter into the engine? Sounds to me like you're flooding it on occasion which would explain it being fine once it runs for a bit or has time to dry.

Just about has to be something electrical. Wait until after dark and then start your engine with the hood up -- look for any spark arcing around the plug boots. Have you had a scanner on the car lately? Even w/o the SES light on you may see "pending codes" that are awaiting another event before triggering the SES.

Could this be related to the engine being half under the cowl? I have a problem with water puddling on my valley cover and in the intake manifold resesses. If your intake to head port gaskets are not super tight, you might be getting water in the motor.
