The camaro launched on the 16th

So the maro launches, and the sister car is left behind.....we are the few and the proud ladies and gentlemen. I am upset but at the same time happy. no we go down in history, as probably the best generation, of firebird, trans am, and formula in the pontiac history. dont get me wrong, i love the other generations very much, but with all the detail in the 98-02 we are by the best looking generation......take care of the birds, b/c we are the last of our kind.

That is why I am passing up on the new ones.....I want to get my F-body 1st...then after I see how the new ones go...Maybe get one late.....I would hate to see the new Camaro become a dud because of all the BS enviormental regs coming soon...

edge by almost a 100hp. The new camaro V8 from what iv read is supposed to be 422hp and the V6 is supposed to be 300hp. Arent the LS1's about 325hp stock?

horsepower isnt everything...hp per lbs is where it is at..and on top of that our transmissions (A4 speaking) is no where near as good as the new maros..so yeah

LS1's are not 325, GM underrated it to that. They put out about 350

Yeah...I'm doing a H/C/I swap in a few weeks...aiming for 450 rwhp...more than enough to take down a 422hp (at the engine) Camaro.

ya that all i want to do is bef up my trans am and show that the old school trans am can beat a nowadays maro fuck the maro....well sorta considering if it wasnt the maro we wouldnt be here at least not up to this point.

haha. I was just replying to the stock for stock question. I know weight, trans, gears, etc. also come into play with the hp/tq when racing. But stock for stock (which was what he asked) even if GM underrated our LS1 motors im still going with the camaro easy, unless the guy had no idea how to drive.

And after looking around the interweb a little, it looks like the new camaros will be weighing in around 38-3900 lbs.
