How much extra money do you have? Some supporting mods are nice for certain options. A cam will give you more improvement over an intake, and you don't really need a larger intake until you get more power so... my vote goes for a cam if you can. Rods/lifters would be a nice addition at the same time. MS3 are pretty decent street mannered cams or you could go custom.

Haha well I'm not completely sure how much extra money ill have yet but if I'm spending money ill take the time to valve springs pushrods and all that.....and yeah I like Texas speed a lot so ms3 would be good ....I just don't know much about what actual specs on a cam mean

like the others have mention, how much? A serious cam and heads will go for about $2,000 to $2400. TS&P has very good packages. A MS3 might be a little much for a DD.

It really depends on your plans for the car.

Well like I said I'm not completely sure I'm putting bout 1,000 into exhaust and I figured bout a 1,000 set aside for the cam eventually it will just be my race car but for now its my daily driver so nothing too insane and also I'd like to just keep the stock heads for now even if I change all this up later on

I'd put that $1000 into suspension.

SFC's, PHB, TA, front/rear sway bars & LCA's will help put that HP to the wheels when you do get a cam/heads.

That would be your best option.

You have a 99, so that means you have a LS1 intake. If you do get a cam it won't get the full power it could get without breathing right.

My vote goes to a LS6 intake, be patient and you can find a almost perfect used one for about $400. That would help the car breath better and when you do get a cam then you'll have the car ready to breath for it. Also with a LS6 intake you can say goodbye to the EGR since you are doing LT's already.

Yeah I was thinking intake also plus its easier to install than a cam so I originally planned on intake first.....what really sucks is my neighbour told me he just sold his cam and ls6 intake for $100 together because he forgot I had a ls1

I'd seriously consider strangling my neighbor if he did that to me

I also vote for intake now and by the time you have more money saved up, you'll have a better idea on what route you want to go with the car and can then make a better judgment on which cam to go with.

for your neighbor, did you piss him off? how do you forget seeing another T/A? I know where all 10 are in mine and the next 2 towns. (around here, we are kinda sparse with T/A's, it's almost a desert for us and a Mustang hell. I can't throw a rock and not hit a Buttstang or hear "how great these are")

All seriousness I got my LS6 Intake (new, never installed, out of a box) for $350 off of craigslist.

I would also keep checking in the for sale section of the forum. You want an intake from a 02 LS1.

If you need a list of what the LS6 intake part numbers are I can get it for you.
