Exclamation C5 cam in stock T/A...? interesting_

i was reading on one of the threads in here that in 1998 there was a shortage of regular ls1 F body cams and for a short time pontiac put C5 cams in T/A's is there a code on the vin # that would tell me if i have one because my car has a slight lope at idle.... anyone know anything about that??

...intresting indeed. All i have ever heard about was that 98ls1 f-bodys came with the biggest cam, bc they varied slightly between the years. Injector size was different too bigger in 98 then 99. Not enough to make a difference but for what its worth

might get more in the internal section, but where did you get this info from? Is this something that pontiac in specific did or GM?

The 98's had the LS1 intake, a slightly larger injector, and a slightly larger cam (not enough to make much difference).
01-02 will still tend to average more power stock for stock.

Like I said in the other thread you posted the difference between the C5s cams and f bods cam is too miniscule to make any difference. Only the ZO6 had a better cam and they didn't come out till 2001.
