Buying a low mileage WS6
Hello LS1 folks.
Newbie here.
My name is Peter and I live in the Pacific NorthWest.
I Drag Race A Stock Eliminator car for my entertainment.
Currently I am looking for a WS6 Trans Am, as I have always greatly admired them.
I have an absolutely stunning 1999 30th anniversary WS6 model in my sights with only 6000 miles on the clock.
The asking price is about USD $ 21,000.
My biggest concern is with such a low mileage car, is there anything to beware of due to long term storage.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Peter

Welcome!!....My first thought is the asking price seems a bit high..the low mileage is probably whats driving the guy to ask that price,Thats really really low almost in the "Granny grocery getter" category..but that's good.Depending on how and where it was stored If it gets a clean bill of health I wouldn't worry about the down time....of course theres always things to look out for with a car that's sitting that long but if the guy knew what he was doing then there should be no problem... P.S. I hear B.C. is nice! some day im gonna make it up there!!

Being a 30th anni would raise the cost too. To be honest i'm surprised he isn't trying to get $26,000+ like everyone else seems to try for 30th cars and CETA cars with low mileage.

It all depends upon the conditions the car sat in... and whether the owner was good about running it on a regular basis (even if he/she didn't put many miles on it), if the gas was kept fresh or treated, and if it was protected from the sun and moisture.

If your concerned about the after effects of long term storage on the car simply have the car checked out by a mechanic.
And I think I can speak for eveyone here, that we would like to see pics of the TA if you decide on buying it.
Welcome to LS1 Peter.
