    burning plastic smell?

im getting this burning plastic smell kind of like a plastic bag, maybe i ran over a bag or something but i noticed it about 2 days ago. I am at school and unable to get it up on a jack and its too low to even get my head under it. Could it be the CATS? I'm not hearing any noises from under there so im kinda lost....any help would be appreciated.

I'd find a way to look under and see if there's a bag melted to your exhaust. Most likely cause. I had that happen once with my previous vehicle. Scraped off as much as I could, the rest just burned off in time.

Yeah, jack it up when you get a chance and craw under there and look around. Do a full search and if you dont find anything set it back down and let it run to see where the smell is coming from.

Yep, you ran over a bag or something, I had the same thing happen. I had to be the biggest bag ever though, plastic crap just about coated the entire pass side exhaust. When I yanked my tranny out, I took the time to get the crap off. I used a small orbtital sander w/ a medium sandpaper, took it off no problem. Of course, I scraped off the bigger chunks first.
