    Unhappy Broken headlight motor gear?

Well, I let my dad drive my car today for the first time. And when he pulled it back into the garage and turned the lights off the headlight motor on the drivers side kept going after the light was down. It made this grinding noise and didn't stop for like 5 seconds. I know it wasn't my dad's fault but I was still steeming mad. So am I going to need to replace a gear or something? And about how much is this going to cost me? I haven't even looked at it yet.

    45 bucks, go to http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/
I did the repair two weeks ago. Works great, watch the install movie clip, and the guy that sells them is very helpful. Took me around two hours to get everything figured out and installed and 24 hours dry time for the casing. I think there's also a free fix on that site, but I just wanted to stop that horrid noise coming from my lights for good

yep sounds like the gear is stripped or on its way to being stripped. I have heard its a fairly common problem with the Firebirds/Trans Ams. +1 to getting the brass gear. Might as well make sure it doesn't happen again.

I read about this fix a couple of weeks ago on another thread. It has the brass gear ordering info and the detailed instructions on how to repair it. Seems pretty simple...and cheap as far as repairs go.

Thanks guys. It took me only 10 minutes to fix, and it was free. Thanks for saving me about 2-3 hours and half of my paycheck.

I did the 180 degree turn on my head light gear and it's held up for over a year.
10 minute fix is right. Proably wht the dealer does then charges $400.
    Nice 69 in the picture.
