thanks for the suggestions i was debating on either ebc or hawkpads. I think ill just go with hawkpads though. where did you find hawk pad front and rear for 129.99?

for a good pad you can usually find locally look for Bendix or Wagner pads. Quality pads and normally can be found locally.

How bad is the wheel dusting with the Hawk pads?

I would suggest EBC RedStuff or Hawk HPS for spirited/enthusiast driving, or Wagner Thermoquiet or Bendix pads for normal street driving.
I've had EBC RedStuff pads on the rear of my car for 4 years, and they've been great. They are very low dust, stop well, and last a long time.
Whatever you do, do not buy store brand/no-name brand pads. The dust, noise, and poor performance are terrible.

After a week it's noticeable on chrome wheels, 2 weeks it needs to be done. They dust a bit more than my raybestos did. I would suggest putting antisqueal on the back of the pads. They don't do it much (do it more now after I beat on my car for a solid day), but it's enough to drive me crazy in stop and go traffic. Will certainly be putting the grease on the back to make them quite again.

I have slotted and drilled rotors and have tried hawk, EBC red pads, and currently have Wagner thermoquiets and the hawks were noisy and wore fast. The EBC red pads were better. Have to say from my experience the Wagner's perform well even when pushed hard and the dust isn't any worse but there cheaper and have a lifetime warranty so if you drive like I do and chew up pads then the warranty is great.

The warranty on Wagner pads, or any other pads for that matter, does not cover wear. It only covers manufacturer's defects, such as a pad cracking, separating from the backing plate, or squeaking.
If they gave you a free set of pads each time yours wore out, the manufacturer would be broke in no time.
Autozone used to do that I believe, and they quickly changed their policy when they saw how badly it was killing their bottom line.

Been a while since I tried to bring back pads to Auto zone I though they still gave you a real warranty. Oh well usually I keep trying new brand everytime to see if I find something better. I still have to say the Wagner's are the quieter and a long lasting set since I haven't had to change them yet. Can't remember how many miles I had when I installed them but I know they are quieter than the hawk or EBC pads were and have lasted at least as long.
