corroded sockes strike again, or it may be abad bulb. Pull out the socket and bulb adb clean up the socket to get the corrosion out of it and add a good amount of di-electric greas add new bulb ans replace, should work.

Just FYI
My turn signal burnt out on me 2 months ago. AutoZone doesn't carry the socket. They said it has some type of chip (BS) in it and had to get it from the factory. GM sells em for $40 tho.

I had the same problem a month ago. Had to replace the front blinker. The socket was corroded, so I used electrical cleanen and put a coat of lube on the socket before replacing. Worked like a champ. i also have the shade of black on my drivers side. After a closer look, I noticed that condensation was getting into the housing, and that is what appears to make it look darker. I think that is what may be the problenm with yours...hope this helps...

The tinted look is from the water getting in the assembly. I took the RH assembly from my daughters '98 apart last weekend and there was none of the reflective coating left around each bulb. Cleaned it up good, sprayed it with a plastic prep coat the a chrome spray paint. Now it looks a little brighter than the LH one. Had to work on the plugs quite a bit to get them cleaned up enough to work. Caution: It is a PITA to get apart without breaking it.
