Dealer told me my car was a 2000, i just found out it is actually a 1999 model. I'm so fucking pissed. This explains why my interior color isn't as black as my 2000 NBM's was.... i'm so fuckin pissed off right now...

The vin is usually very accurate in deterimining year which is what your insurance and title go off of. How did you determine that it is a 1999?

yup, the door sticker said it's production date was OCT 1999

That means it is a 2000. If it said prduction date of Oct. 1998 then it would be a 99. The production date of every vehicle I know of is a year before the actual model year.

If your 10th VIN digit is a "Y" it is a 2000 model year car. End of story. Usually anything with a production date after 9/xx means it is the next model year. Also, you can tell if it is a 2000 model by if it has child restraint latches behind the back seats, that was not required until the 2000 model year for any car. F-bodies did not have this until 2000....

Yeah it's a 2000. My 99 Camaro was built in 9/1998. Production for the next model years starts in the physical year prior to it.
