I love my Pro5.0...never had a problem with it. I combined it with a Lou's Short Stick and it shifts great.

Pro 5.0 seems to be a popular choice here. I bought the aftermarket Hurst Billet and have no issues with mine at all.

If you only want a shorter throw, you can go with short stick. but you really want do to bump stops with this as well.

If you want to swap the whole assembly, I'd go with the Pro 5.0 or the less popular, but still quality, MGW. But the MGW is ~$250 IIRC.

Agreed. Your stock shifter doesn't have solid stops so there is a chance you can actually over-shift, causing damage. You definitely want a whole shifter assembly and not just replace the stick itself.

    Good point KM

Would recommend the pro 5.0 or the MGW
I got the MGW and am real happy with it. Little bit more but from everything i've heard its well worth it. Got pics in this thread, just scroll down

I have the same setup myself. shifts like a dream, not to mention missing 3rd gear is almost impossible.

You can check out www.kyspeed.com or PM Mark on here (marksls1ta). He is a sponsor and usually has great prices and offers free shipping. If he doesn't carry it, I bought mine from Bob at Brute Speed.

I went with the MGW and could not be happier. it's simply amazing. My personal and clearly biased position.... get the MGW. My father drove it and thought it felt perfect.

Sadly i STILL haven't gotten to try it out at the track yet.

Well one good thing about it is that you can reuse your Hurst knob you have now on the new one. I don't know if this is true on the MGW or Pro 5.0

I can't say I've ever missed a shift with mine. The stick that comes with the Hurst is about the same height as the stock stick. I might eventually go with a shorter one, but for now it gets the job done nicely.

    Just glanced at the MGW site;

Accepts Factory or aftermarket shift knobs with 16mm threads. (12mm threaded shaft option also available)

3rd is my hated gear, I've hit the post between 1 and 3 so many times. I just push too hard and get excited too much, lol.

I'm not saying I've never missed a gear, I have Most of the time it is always while either racing or at the track too, when it matters the most. You rush, get too excited, have that adrenaline rush and aren't thinking clearly or trying to shift too fast and let-up on the clutch peddle too soon before trying to shift, etc.

I've had my Hurst Billet aftermarket shifter on my car the last 9K miles now though and I hit 3rd every single time.

OP - with any of the top name brand aftermarket shifters, they do have that natural tendency to just slide right into gear.

When I went from my Hurst factory shifter to aftermarket, I had to get used to shifting into 3rd for a while as with the factory shifter, I found I had to shift it up and over just slightly. With the new shifter, I just basically shift upwards from 2nd and it goes right into 3rd without effort.
