    Best LS for turbo

I'm thinking about pulling my motor and trans from my 2000 WS6 and building a turbo engine. I have no idea what block to go with and internals. Kinda new at this and wanna keep stock engine and trans stock. I keep seeing the 5.3. Are there any other LS motors that will work? Id like a solid motor that will make the most reliable HP without exploding. I am leaning toward a single big turbo but considering a twin setup. I want to build the motor myself, minus some machine work. Cant afford a built crate motor so I'm gonna piece one together for a project

    Thanks

Iron block 5.3's and 6.0's are your best bang for buck. They hold more boost and can be bored out more over aluminum, Weight penalty isn't really that much.

Many junk yard builds have 5.3's putting down 700 hp on stock bottom ends. Not saying they last infinity but they seem to be able to handle it fairly well.

Do your research, it's more then just slapping a turbo on.

Heads, cam, oil feed/drain, intercooler (type), injectors, placement, exhaust output etc.....and that's not including the tuning.

There are a few compaines that sell completed kits for f bodies with quite a few options on turbo's.
