Best Concept yet?
so far with all the talk of releasing a new Firebird/TA concept there have been alot of concept ideas floating around... gotta say i haven't been too impressed with most of them, but this one i think is definately worthy of the bird badge

Especially if GM stops worrying about it's ponycars overpowering the vette's, and drops in an LS7 ...maybe even the fabled LS9 concept engine into it!!!!! (8.3L 900hp engine)... personally i think having a TA that overpowers a vette is not a bad thing.. i mean sales are always a big concern.... why not build an Fbody thats a Cobra Killer??? A car thats absolutely untouchable in its price range, pretty sure there would be no problem with sales then!
i mean i'm not sure the price of an LS7 package, or even with the LS9 concept..i imagine the sticker price would still be under 40/50k

No thanks.
These aren't supercars designed off a Vibe or Sunfire.
I hope they leave it dead like all indications have said. Didn't GM retire the Firebird name?? I think that means they can't bring it back.
I know they didn't retire the Camaro name.

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
Meh. The nose looks too much like a late model Sunfire, and the rear 1/4 looks very Mustang-esqe, at least from that angle.

Well what exactly makes a firebird a firebird? They just change the bodies on them. Nothing is ever the same. Look at nissan, they are making another version of the 350Z and they decide to call them "skylines" its kind of hard to explain what I am trying to say but does anyone get what I am saying? Look at the first birds and the 4th gen birds, they are nothing alike. Same with every other car...

All Black- 83, 87, 02 All WS6 T/As
Just make a car with sleak lines, mean front end, nice rear end (since thats what everyone will be seeing anyway.. ) lots of power (love the idea of the LS7 or LS9), and let it handle curves... then badge it the 'Bird and advertise it as the rebirth of the phoenix... rising from the ashes of a 4th gen... screaming at the screen... smoke clears and there it is.. (With a booming voice) "The rebirth of the Firebird Trans Am, so hot you'd be afraid to get near it!" Then have it peal away...

How about bringing it back even temporarily for a short run and just calling it the Pheonix? (LS7 powered of course)

The LS7 wouldn't be all that impressive in a 3900 pound car....
