awful noise...

Since last winter, it got real cold. And my ls1 started knocking bad at startup. I changed the oil and riched up the tune and it got better for awhile. The past month or so it randomly has been making this godawful clattering sound at random times,generally a high load low rpm situation. So I parked it I. The driveway in d with the parking brake on to see if I could find out where the sound was coming from. Seems like bottom end.

Any ideas? Probably going to do a 200k rebuild this fall, timing chain etc. Trying not to drive it too much but it is my DD so that's kinda tough. Would greatly appreciate any insight into what this problem could be and how to fix it if I can.

Note the 1-2 shift... hear the noise? Anybody who's popped a flexplate want to corroborate my theory that that's what gives?

i would suggest to bring it over to garage for a check up, just to narrow it down of which parts is the cause for this problem.

Tranny rebuild and new flexplate go in next Tuesday, if anybody knows Ricky at ammco that's who is doin the work.
