Anyone heard of a WS6 Blackhawk Edition?

    Not Blackbird but Blackhawk.

There is one for sale local (2000 WS6) and the guy said he bought it in Arizona and the only thing different is the decaling on the hood which says Blackhawk, the dealer he bought it off claims it is a Blackhawk Edition.

He also mentioned he has two WS6 cars and that the Blackhawk is quite a bit faster than his other car?

I could not really find any info.

I think they were limited editions of the 97' Trans Am.

Sounds like hes confused and misinformed. What is his asking price for this? Maybe its a one off. Is there a link we can look at?

I've never seen documentation (and that's saying something) of any Firebird models that were 'officially' given the name 'Blackhawk'. If someone uses the term it is likely because they are confusing Blackbirds and Firehawks. I would love for someone to prove otherwise.

I've heard the name before I think. Maybe it's a black Firehawk so they called it a Blackhawk?

Might just be a dealer added decal package. I know back when I lived in FL years ago a few dealers added stickers and some interior trim and call them special edition's. I saw one I can remember if it was a LT or LS Formula it was soo long ago but it had some custom seat stiching and stickers and they called it a Banshee.

Get the vin number and check it out. I looked at a '97 Trans Am at a buy here pay here dealership recently and they said it was a WS.6 when it was really just a Trans Am. All they did was badge it as one and it didn't even have the air box or hood. I made them feel like a**holes haha.

Sunset Pontiac made them in '94, '95, and '96. They were designed and named after the Banshee Concept car for the fourth gen Firebirds.

yea thats it. i looked on line and all i found for a Black Hawk was a 2000 model formula called the Nighthawk, not sure if the owner named it that or if it came factory, wikepedia doesnt list a Blackhawk model.

Dealerships and salesmen are notorious for getting that stuff wrong and sometimes intentionally. The Banshee however was the real deal. I almost bought one myself once.

here is a link for the Trans Am history, all it list is a 2001, and a 2002 Blackbird edition, 1 of 50 made, doesnt list a Black Hawk bird.

that's interesting since I have seen the concept, but I have never saw another Banshee aside from that one so I assumed they just added it to that one car. Honesly it didn't look like anything special the one I saw had stock wheels and the Banshee sticker was at the front of the door.

basically comes to the same conclusion as this thread, there is no such thing as a "Blackhawk" edition Firebird.
