Yeah Thanks Dustin that was a great post...although i was looking real close for the guy that left a Scott pro-shop towel between my panel and the plastic interior piece.. My car was ordered brand new by me so i know it had to have come from the plant....I can just hear the guy now saying Oh shit!! i left a towel in that one!!...Im sure he wasnt about to tell his boss to tear it open for a paper towel and get fired.... ha ha. Good ones too P-V Camaro...i wonder who got the first one and who got the last one? Probably some GM executive.

Check out this great video of the final days of the F-body plant. Watch at 1:25 where it shows the VINs for the last Firebird and Camaro.

Ill second that Dustin....Ill never forget how great it felt to drive away from the GM dealership that cold December night in 2001..in my brand new 2002 SS- to have a new car, Ahh the memories....and just to think my baby is already 10 years old! I liked the part in the video that read '' The 02 Camaro and Firebird were the best built F-cars in 35 years''.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
Thanks, very cool pics of our cars coming to life at the Mothership. I am glad to see the workers faces and the inside of the plants that made it happen. I must have been great to see a line of F-bodies caming at you every day. Each one a little different.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Damn good video and great pictures. pretty sad i use to have a dream when i was like 15 to bring the plant back to life and continue making even more camaros and firebirds....then my buddy showed me a picture of the plant destroyed....ya dream died right there. quick question. didnt the last 2002 camaro sell for like 378k? and as far as i know the last trans am is still in the gm historical museum. i even saw at one point they had it at the annual f-body car show.

The last production Camaro was a red Z/28 and was taken to the GM Heritage Museum. Those are the pictures above shown with the "last built" badge on it. It was the one before the last one produced that was auctioned off (at least I believe). The last Camaro sold to the public was auctioned at the Kruse ACD Festival auction on Labor Day, 2002 in Auburn, IN (picture also shown above). The winner paid $70K-something for it. It was a red Z28 t-top. The actual car delivered to the winner was still in final prep on the date of the auction and was delivered to him the following week (f-body production halted in August, just weeks before). At the auction, they had an identical stand-in red Z28 t-top on the turntable.

ok wait so the "last" car to be sold to the public was a red z/28 t-top. And the very last camaro ever produced went to the gm heritage museum?
